Master Your Thoughts and Win at Life!

There will come a time in your life where you will begin to notice what you are thinking. This is very good, and rather than just thinking, you will realize that you are your thoughts.  There’s a scripture in the bible that says” As a man thinketh, so is he” so it is good to observe of your thoughts. Once you realize what type of thoughts you are having, you’ll be able to control them better and determine what you choose to think. This is very powerful because you are not separate from your thoughts.
Deep huh?..... You become your thoughts and most of the time, you are thinking on autopilot with one random thought entering your mind after another. You can see, hear or smell something that triggers a memory, and your thoughts go on a rampage. Before you know it, you are emotionally invested in an old insignificant random thought.
Although the thought that you may be thinking at the time is a random thought, if you hold that thought for less than 16 seconds another thought like it will join in and so on and so forth; thus creating a whole string of “like” thoughts. This string of similar thoughts will then further create or activate a vibration; an emotion within your body, and before you know it you have just taken an emotional journey somewhere. Chances are this is a journey that you didn't intend to take, and you have just created it, unintentionally.
Creating unintentionally is no fun in life, because you are unaware of the power that you are wielding around at every moment. You are unaware that you are attracting to yourself the very things that you don't want, because of these constant unintended emotional excursions. Yes, your emotions are the vibrations that you put into the Universe. Every vibration delivers back to you an equivalent physical manifestation.
You may start with the thought that “I don't have enough”, and another thought joins in that says “I don't know how I'm going to make it”, and from there yet another thought joins in and says, “I never have enough” then up the rear comes the thought, “I'm tired of struggling” and it's cousin chimes in with “I can't win for losing!”. Before you know it, you have just activated a low vibration within you that makes you feel really bad and you have just begun the manifestation process of getting more of what you don't want.
Your life will prove your beliefs to you at every turn, and you will get more evidence of not having enough and of struggling. As you see more evidence of your thoughts, the evidence will cause you to continue more of the same thoughts. This will cause more of the same vibration, which will bring more of the same manifestation. It is a vicious cycle!
So let’s clean house!
The question is “What can I do to change or control my thoughts?”  Well, I'm glad you asked! The answer is simple, but simple often times leads to people not doing it. We want to complicate it, and study it and analyze it, and write papers and books about it. We want to attend seminars and be coached about it, but the truth of the matter is this:

1. Become the observer of your thoughts.
2. Be forward feeling rather than current looking.
3.Repeat, repeat, repeat.

Being forward feeling rather than current looking simply means to ignore reality, and go to the feeling place of how you want your life to be. I know it's hard to hear “ignore reality”, but the truth of the matter is that paying attention to and recording, and keeping score of the reality of the current situation of your life is only bringing more of that current situation to you, and nothing will change. You must see the unseen and feel the feelings of that, and this practice raises your vibration to match that which you desire, which then causes manifestation of the desire.
Find out what things and situations that you truly want in life and concentrate on them. Do these simple tasks;
  1. Write down a list of the things you want.(this has been proven to be very effective)
  2. Read inspirational books
  3.  Create a dream board,
  4. Go to places and do things that inspire you, for instance, if you have an idea what type of dream house you want go visit an open house of a similar house and visualize yourself being there.
I know this seems a bit strange but this is how we were created. We are wired to attract things to us in this manner. So it really makes no sense to go against our true nature.
I know, read it a few times and let it marinate!
If you are ready to develop yourself, your business and your life into what you desire... then follow these simple tips right here!

Set A Schedule and Attain Your Goals!

Setting a schedule can be very hard for network marketers to do!  For some reason they like to say things like, “but I’m doing this so I can have flexibility with my schedule”.  That is TRUE.  However, if you want to have a successful business so you can HAVE flexibility, you need to have a schedule.  Here are some suggestions in helping you set your schedule:

  1. First put in any “other” work priorities.  In other words, if you work another full or part time job,  that needs to be marked out of your calendar.  You are not available during that time.
  2. Mark out any standing family/church obligations you have.  For instance, if you have family dinner Sunday nights at your in-laws, that’s an appointment, so jot it down.  Or, if you are a youth leader on Wednesday nights, that needs to be penciled in as well.
  3. Mark out kids sporting events.  Don’t compromise on this.  Family is high priority and no matter how much money you can potentially earn, don’t put money before your family time, you’ll regret this later,  so just document all of your kids events as an appointment.
  4. Pencil in a date night with your spouse at least 1-2 times per month.  Trust me on this one, it makes for a happy spouse!
  5. If you are at home with the kids, mark out times for getting kids off to school, homework time, etc.
  6. Don’t forget “pamper me time”.  Whether it’s working out, getting a massage, reading a book or taking a bubble bath, document it!!! You’ll be surprised how much you put yourself last. Remember to do this and you’ll be much more productive, have more energy and a better overall attitude.
  7. Personal Development/Meditation/Prayer – it’s best to spend at least 30 minutes every day doing something that will build up your mental strength.  We deal with so much on a daily basis and rarely get the chance to “woosaahhh”, so allow 30 minutes each day to either meditate, pray or read an inspirational book that will get you motivated and ready to conquer the world.
  8. Now you have your time available.  Mark CHUNKS of time that you can devote to your business.  Just because you have 20 hours left does not mean you can just say you’ll work “whenever”.  Specifically set aside days and times that you will be working your business, and the specific activities you will be doing at specific times.
  9. Next decide what that time will be spent on.  You will need to set aside time for prospecting, time for follow up calls, time for marketing etc.  The time will go quick, so pencil it in and stick to your guns on your time.
  10. You may decide that you need to get up an hour earlier to fit in an extra hour to work on your business.  Especially if you work another job.
  11. If it helps, color code your business time and highlight it in green – which means, it’s MONEY MAKING time!
You can change your schedule as needed. THAT’S the flexibility part. Having a schedule is absolutely necessary if you are going to have a successful business.   This is all apart of being an efficient goal setter and accomplishing a task towards it every day.  So don’t put it off, but get started today!

Goal Setting Strategy!

Distinguish between short term vs. long term goals.....
When people think of goal setting, they often think of long term goals such as making $1 million dollars or buying their dream home.  Long terms goals are very important, but so are short term goals.  Short term goals can help you stay motivated as you are working towards those long term goals.  They are the little pats on the back along the way.
They can be especially gratifying in network marketing.  A short term goal allows you to see that you are making progress in the bigger goal of having a successful business.  A short term goal should be something that you can accomplish in about three months and something that you would not normally be able to do if it weren’t for your business.  Here are some examples of short term goals:
-          A new summer wardrobe
-          A weekend getaway with your spouse
-          Pay off a credit card
-          Have a debt free Christmas
-        Remodel your kids room
-          Buy a treadmill
Long term goals are those that keep you in your business for the long haul.  Your short term goals are great and keep you motivated, but the long term goal is what it’s all about.  It’s a great idea to have a visual board for your long term goals so that you see it as much as possible.  Also, make a measurement stick – and mark off how much closer you’re getting.  Even if it’s only 5% your first year, you are that much closer!
Although we’ve identified what short and long term goals are, what most people get stuck with is the most important part…HOW to actually set their goals.  Here’s a quick step by step guide on how to set both your long term and short term goals:
1. Set aside time.  It has to be quiet and uninterrupted time.  I find it’s best if you do this away from your house or business.  Find a place that is inspiring for you.  Go to the beach, in the mountains, or another favorite stop.  Take a pad of paper, pencil/pens and 2 different colored highlighters with you.
2. Start with a free flowing list of things you’d like to accomplish.  Ask yourself these questions, and write down any answer that come to mind:

  1. What do I want to do?
  2. What do I want to have?
  3. Where do I want to go?
  4. Where do I want to live?
  5. How many homes do I want to have? Where?
  6. What contributions do I want to make to my community or the world?
  7. How much do I want to earn?
  8. How much do I want to invest?
  9. How much do I want to save?
  10. What do I want to do for my children?
  11. What do I want to do for my parents?
  12. What will I do for fun?
2. You should have a pretty long list!!  Probably a couple of pages.  Now go back through and split between your long term and your short term goals.  Remember, short term goals are things that you can accomplish in a 3 month period.  Long term goals would take longer than that.  Highlight short terms goals one color and long term goals another.
    1. Starting with short term goals:  Take a new sheet of paper and write down your TOP TEN short term goals.  Those you feel the most attachment to.  (But keep your big list…you can use the rest later.
    2. Schedule those short term goals into appropriate quarters of your upcoming year.  Three or so a quarter (one will have 4).  You have set your short term goals for the year!
    3. Now let’s turn to your long term goals.  This is a little harder, and often takes the buy in of your spouse as well.  But this is a good place to start.  I believe in taking the opposite approach with long term goals.  Start culling your list 5 at a time.  Line through your LEAST important 5 long term goals.  Next 5.  Do this until you CANNOT compromise OR you are down to 5-8 long term goals.
    4. When you get home, talk to your spouse about what the MOST IMPORTANT FIVE long term goals are for you to work towards.  Now you have your long term goals.
Both short term goals and long term goals are important.  Take some time to set your short term goals and long term goals this week.  Share them with your family – you’ll find they are much more patient with your business when they know what your goals really are!
